The record figure includes promotional and bonus bets. Since North Carolina sports betting launched on March 11, 2024, more than $12 billion in total wagers have been placed, with $10.7 billion returned in paid winnings.

Futures Odds on North Carolina’s NFL, NHL & NBA Teams
Carolina Panthers (200-1)
The Panthers have enjoyed a reversal of fortune after six years of futility. Carolina improved to 7-6 after last week’s 31-28 win over the Los Angeles Rams, who remain the consensus favorite to win Super Bowl 60. DraftKings was dealing the Rams at +450 to win it all as of this writing.
The Panthers are a half-game out of first place in the NFC South. Tampa Bay (7-5) leads the division, but the teams will meet twice in the final three weeks of the season to decide the division champion.
Carolina Hurricanes (7.5-1)
The Hurricanes are the second betting favorite to win the Stanley Cup at FanDuel. The Colorado Avalanche (+400) are atop the odds board.
Carolina, which won its only Stanley Cup in 2006, has been among the championship contenders in recent years. Last season, the Hurricanes advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals before losing to the Florida Panthers in a 4-1 series.
The Panthers went on to win their second-straight Stanley Cup.
Charlotte Hornets (1000-1)
The Hornets (6-16) are among the longest shots to win the NBA Championship. They often seem like an afterthought when it comes to North Carolina’s professional sports. The Hornets haven’t had a winning season since the 2021-22 campaign.
Meanwhile, Charlotte FC recently completed its fourth MLS season in the Queen City with a playoff run. Despite losing the opening-round series to New York City Football Club, 2-1, Charlotte’s soccer team enjoys a rabid following.
