The best Thursday Night Football matchup in recent memory kicks off tonight when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. Prime Video has live coverage starting at 8:15 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys (6-5-1 SU, 7-5 ATS) are riding a three-game winning streak after beating the Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day. That was one of our two successful spread predictions for three holiday games.

The Lions (7-5 SU, 6-6 ATS) might be without star WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle), who will be a game-time decision after getting injured in last week’s loss to the Packers.

DraftKings is dealing Detroit as a 3-point home favorite with a total of 54.5 in what could become a shootout. At the time of publication, Detroit commanded 55% of the spread handle and 45% of tickets.

Best Cowboys vs. Lions Bet

OVER 54.5 (-110)

This is a big total, but Detroit has given up an average of 29 points in its last two games. Green Bay did whatever it wanted to do offensively during its 31-24 win on Thanksgiving Day.

The Lions are persevering through a raft of injuries on both sides of the ball. Safety Kerby Joseph (knee) hasn’t played since Week 6 and will be sidelined again tonight.

Detroit’s secondary was torched for four passing TDs in the loss to Green Bay. That’s a real concern given Dallas leads the league in passing offense (271.3 yards per game) and total offense (391.3 ypg).

Dallas QB Dak Prescott has two of the NFL’s best wide receivers to throw to in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. Pickens ranks second among all NFL pass catchers with 1,142 receiving yards. He’s also hauled in eight TD catches.

Detroit’s just catching Dallas at the wrong time. The Cowboys have also improved defensively, thanks to the additions of Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson before the trade deadline.

Offensively, Dallas ranks second in the NFL in scoring at 29.3 points per game. Detroit checks in at No. 3, with 29.2 ppg.

If you’re considering taking the OVER tonight, grab it at this number before public money potentially inflates it leading up to kickoff. With 66% of the handle and 65% of tickets on the OVER at DraftKings, this number could be on the rise.

Best Player Props for Cowboys vs. Lions

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott OVER 269.5 Passing Yards (-112 at FanDuel)

For all of the reasons mentioned above, Prescott is in line for a huge passing night against the Lions.

Prescott has been nearly unstoppable the past two weeks against top competition. He threw for 320 yards and two TDs in last week’s win over Kansas City.

Prior to that, Prescott scorched the Eagles for 354 yards and a pair of TDs in the upset victory. He was picked off once in each of those games, but that hasn’t stopped him from racking up huge passing stats. Expect that to continue against the Lions tonight.

Lions WR Isaac TeSlaa OVER 36.5 Receiving Yards (-112 at FanDuel)

We mentioned the questionable status of St. Brown, but the Lions will definitely be without key receiving targets in Sam LaPorta, Kalif Raymond, and Brock Wright.

TeSlaa was forced into action after St. Brown was injured early on Thanksgiving, and he responded with 35 receiving yards against a Green Bay pass defense ranked sixth in the league.

Dallas ranks 30th in pass defense, allowing 251.5 passing yards per contest. The Cowboys will also focus much of their attention on WR Jameson Williams, who became WR1 when St. Brown was sidelined. He went off for 144 receiving yards and a TD against the Packers.
