Novomatic’s interactive division Greentube has aligned with an awareness initiative to support the World Health Organisation’s stay-at-home programme, offering a care package of game rewards to players across its social casino brands.

Taking place under the moniker of #PlayApartTogether, the care package includes giveaways such as extra free coins, extra bonus rewards, or special events to encourage customers of GameTwist, Slotpark and Gaminator to stay at home and help fight the spread of the current pandemic.

The special mechanics will appear in-app and will be promoted through CRM communications channels, such as social media and newsletters, with links to WHO communication portals that list the guidelines and development updates of the situation.

#PlayApartTogether is organised by the gaming industry on behalf of the WHO and has so far garnered support from almost 60 companies worldwide.

Jose Jaime Ocampo, director of social casino brands at Greentube, explained: “In these difficult times, it is important for all of us to rally behind efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. Gaming companies like Greentube have a wide-reaching, global social platform through which we can communicate critical messages of safe physical distancing whilst encouraging responsible engagement with our content.

“We are proud to be part of the roster of gaming companies showing solidarity in the fight against the virus and we have some exciting special events and rewards lined up so our customers can play games together in safety.”

Initially established last month the campaign intends to bring special events, exclusives, activities, rewards and inspiration to some of the most popular games in the world, with#PlayApartTogether designed to encourage users to adopt best practices for the sake of their own health and that of their families and communities.

By incorporating COVID-19 self-protection messages into games, it is said that the industry is aiming to show the world that “wherever you are, whatever game you play, you can make a difference.”
