QuickSpin’s haunted mansion cluster title has claimed SlotBeats’ Slot of the Week with Ghost Glyph.
Following on from the developers launch of Golden Glyph, Ghost Glyph is a 7×7, cluster slot title which includes various new features in the base and bonus game along with the tumble mechanic.
On the games launch lead artist at QuickSpin, Michael Spinks, commented: “We’re trying to aim the game at a more modern player, bridging the gap between slot gaming and mobile app games. We’re trying to achieve a feeling of a gaming level, with the mechanics of a slot game.
“We want characters to come onto the reels to activate the features so the player gains an understanding of each character’s ability during the gameplay, and builds an understanding of how the game works very quickly. It is a predecessor of the Golden Glyph, but we’re trying to accomplish a completely different feel with a dark humorous twist.
“I’m currently looking into all the different FX and animations the game is going to contain, to keep the ghostly feel, with ‘possessed’ objects, twisting ghost trails, explosions, etc. What I love so far is the new angle that I think we’re taking to previous games we have created. We’re thinking more about the environment and world that the game is based in, and making sure that everything marries in together.”
The ghost glyph within the base and bonus games is awarded in one of the empty spaces, with one being awarded for each tumble. It is evaluated and removed as a wild symbol. For each ghost glyph that is removed, an additional ghost urn is activated.
Before each spin, five ghost urns, yellow, green, red and blue, are randomly chosen apart from the final one which is always the blue ghost urn.
The yellow ghost urn spreads wilds, the green transforms low paying symbols, red removes low paying symbols and the blue ghost urn activates the bonus game.
The game also includes a Massive Wild feature which is activated at the end of the free spin if the last Paranormality Meter reaches level one or higher.
