Gaming Realms has extended its ongoing Slingo agreement with Scientific Games, after unveiling a fresh four year licensing deal with the gambling tech firm.

The deepened partnership, which has provided Scientific Games with the exclusive rights to create and produce Slingo-branded lottery instant scratch games, terminal generated and draw-based games, also offers the company the opportunity to offer branded digital lottery titles.

“We are delighted to extend our licensing agreement with Scientific Games, with whom we have worked very closely over the last 20 years,” commented Michael Buckley, executive chairman of Gaming Realms.

“Our collaboration on Slingo lottery products has proven to be very successful to date, with 550 million tickets sold valued at $1.7bn, and we look forward to continuing our work together for the enjoyment of players.”

The renewed deal continues the existing agreement, which has seen Slingo feature in the Scientific Games licensed products portfolio since 2000, in the North American, European, UK, New Zealand and Australian markets.

Liz Johnson, director of lottery licensed properties for Scientific Games, said: “Players love Slingo. We are excited to have the opportunity to continue innovating more great retail and digital Slingo games to help our lotteries generate funding for their beneficiary programs.

“Slingo is perfect for extended play instant games, which have increased in sales by 26 per cent over the past year, with retail sales of all Slingo branded games up 87 per cent from May 2020 to May 2021. The games also include an instant win feature for players to win an instant cash prize.”

Last month, Gaming Realms reported that 2021 trading was operating slightly ahead of expectations, continuing the momentum of the “excellent progress” achieved during the prior year.

The group said that licensing revenue for the first quarter of the year was 60 per cent ahead of the same period in 2020, with the figure reaching £2.1m (2020: £1.3m).
