Pennsylvania

Gaming Realms has been granted an interactive gaming manufacturer licence by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, as the group maintains a continued focus of expansion across the country.

This will permit the developer and licensor of mobile focused gaming content to provide its Slingo Originals game content to the state’s licenced online casino operators.

The move comes a little under one month on from the group detailing its intention to go live in the jurisdiction during the first half of the year, with Michigan entry anticipated to be on the agenda “in the near future”.

Pennsylvania, the fifth most populous state in the US with a population of a little under 13 million, saw its igaming market grow 574 per cent on a revenue basis during the course of 2020.

The company last month said the growth across the US and European regulated markets formed one of three core areas of focus regarding international expansion moving forward.

This was alongside the addition of new distributors, operators and licensors; and further penetration with existing distributors and operators driven by new games.

“We are delighted to have been granted our licence in Pennsylvania, where igaming revenues grew by nearly 600 per cent in 2020. We are now licenced in the three largest states for igaming, and look forward to more states regulating in the future,” explained Michael Buckley, executive chairman of Gaming Realms.

“We have signed a number of multi-state deals and direct integration agreements with some of the largest operators in the US, giving an excellent opportunity to capitalise on the expansion of the exciting US igaming market.”
