Las Vegas headquartered AGS has taken the latest step in its ongoing quest for global growth, after making its maiden move into the Canadian market alongside Loto-Québec.

The has seen Raking Bacon, which AGS says is the “first of many titles to go live with operators,” be welcomed on board by the group, in a deal which was facilitated by Scientific Games and OpenGaming ecosystem.

Matt Reback, executive vice president operations at AGS, said: “Launching in Canada is the next step for AGS and our aim to bring our content to the widest audience, and we are thrilled to have Rakin’ Bacon as the first title to go live with Loto-Québec and we are looking forward to seeing our games resonate with Canadian players.”

Rakin’ Bacon! is the first game available with Loto-Québec, with the fantasy pig-themed game featuring the golden pig in a coin-filled room which offers cartoon-like animations for players.

Stéphane Martel, acting senior director of products and innovation at Loto-Québec, a long standing OpenGaming partner, commented: “This agreement and launch underpins our relationship with Scientific Games and how the OpenGaming platform is a key component in offering a vast array of content to our players.”

The integration was made possible through Scientific Games’ OpenGaming content aggregation platform, which consists of over 3,000 games from a number of third-party providers, as well as the company’s in-house gaming studio.

“We’re pleased to welcome AGS to the OpenGaming ecosystem in Canada and we’re sure their content will be a massive success for Loto-Québec and our other Canadian partners,” added Marc Crean, commercial director of Canada and LatAM in digital at Scientific Games.

Last month, AGS said that its first quarter performance served “as a testament to the resiliency and durability” of the firm, two months after the group asserted that it was better positioned than at any point in its history.

Revenue for the period ending March 31, 2021, increased 1.9 per cent to $55.4m (2020: $54.3m), with growth of the EGM, table products and interactive businesses helping to offset the impact of ongoing sluggishness in the North American slot replacement market.
