Grand Victoria Casino Elgin has taken a further step towards “treating Illinois customers and sports fans like royalty” after lifting the veil off a range of fresh property additions.
In addition to debuting a retail sportsbook and World Series of Poker room, a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony also featured a guest appearance by WSOP Main Event Champion and Poker Hall of Fame inductee, Chris Moneymaker.
After meeting with fellow players and punters, he participated in a Shoot-Out Poker tournament that came with a $25,000 prize pool and a $5,000 bounty.
The gaming venue is set to host its maiden WSOP circuit event on November 10-21, which has $1m in guaranteed prize money at stake and allows ring event winners to gain a seat in the 2023 Tournament of Champions in Las Vegas.

“We wanted to create a comfortable space where guests may enjoy sporting events and live poker in a well-appointed environment complete with world-class amenities.”
The 2,100-square-foot Caesars sportsbook features three betting windows and five self-service betting kiosks, while the 4,400-square-foot poker room boasts 20 poker tables. The new shared space features a full-service bar equipped with bar top gaming, 20 large-screen LED TVs, and a lounge area.
Furthermore, in addition to convenient cash-deposit sports wagering now being available in person at Grand Victoria Elgin, players can also utilise the Caesars Sportsbook app.
