Alexia Gauci, B2B Sales Manager at ReferOn, reflects on the company’s recent ‘ReferOn Insights’ sessions that aimed to educate both operators and affiliates on the best way to utilise its platform.

Gauci notes that providing education and training offers an efficient way of building significant trust with clients.

SBC: ReferOn has been hosting educational sessions for both operators and affiliates. Why did you choose to put these sessions together and how did you deliver them?

Alexia Gauci: We pride ourselves on listening to user feedback and developing close customer relationships. A common piece of feedback we received was how intuitive our platform was and that so many operators were struggling to maximise affiliate campaign efficiency due to complex systems. So, we wanted to hone in on our strength of being accessible and easy to use.

We started our educational seminar, “ReferOn Insights,” to demonstrate our platform’s capabilities and show our customers and the public how easy ReferOn is to use. We then expanded our reach to include affiliates, where we guided attendees on how to set up and use our solutions optimally. We’re continually developing these seminars and want to foster open communication with our customers. To support this, we hold Q&A sessions at the end of each seminar, where we encourage their feedback. We truly value their input and actively use it to enhance and refine our solutions and offerings.

SBC: Let’s talk about the operator session first – what sort of content was involved in the operator-facing seminar and what were the key takeaways for attendees?

AG: The operator session was an all-encompassing seminar that walked operators through our platform, covering topics ranging from our accessible metrics dashboards, best affiliate management practices, and finishing off on our prime data reporting and analytics features.

We always like to collect first hand feedback from our attendees and customers. During our Q&A session, we received praise and clarifying questions, which helped our audience understand the platform on a deeper level. Feedback like that inspires us to continue working hard and improving!

SBC: And now the affiliates – what educational content did you deliver for affiliates and what were the key takeaways?

AG: The ReferOn Insights for Affiliates session was great fun, and we had an amazing turnout! Again, we prioritised data in this seminar because it’s by far the most important aspect of affiliate management for operators and affiliates. However, we focused on how affiliates can use our comprehensive and accessible data reporting to optimise their affiliate performance.

What interested our attendees was ReferOn’s reporting capabilities, company functionality and capability. We then ensured our affiliates understood how to manage their accounts properly and reviewed security enhancements, payment method optimisation and technical support. At the end of the seminar, we were bombarded with questions, which were all extremely useful.

From both seminars, we saw how much our solutions can assist users, and we’re making plans to implement more features in the future based on the feedback we received. The key takeaway from these seminars was that I realised how much potential our platform really has and how fruitious connections like these can be.

SBC: A lot of the education seemed to focus on data and tracking – can you explain why this is so crucial to the affiliate space and note why all stakeholders need to know about this?

AG: Put simply, data drives all business decisions in all industries. With this in mind, some systems try to empower their users by allowing them to sort through different types of data. However, a common pain point we discovered when chatting with operators and affiliates is that they feel overwhelmed and confused by how many options, tables and modules there are when accessing data.

So, we believe that making data easy to access and understand is key to creating actionable insights for our customers. This way, they can make better business decisions to grow and scale.

Affiliate campaigns are dynamic and constantly evolving. If operators fail to adapt to these changes, they risk missing out on significant growth opportunities. As a result, understanding and managing data enables them to adapt and achieve even greater growth. ReferOn prides itself on empowering our customers and seeing them scale. We love it when we receive success messages from our customers – it brings a smile to our faces and reminds us that we’re on the right path.

SBC: What tools and expertise does ReferOn boast for the affiliate space and how can you help stakeholders when it comes to data and tracking?

AG: We’ve made several new updates that demonstrate our commitment to continuously improving our product for the benefit of our users. Some of these new tools and features include:

  • Postbacks: We made it easy to collect real-time registration and FTD events within the ReferOn system.
  • Registration Page Changes: We made QOL updates to registration pages, mainly their flow and design for better conversion. We also added registration forms in multiple languages.
  • Bulk Updates for Media: Admins can now conduct bulk changes on trackers and campaigns instead of having to make individual, manual changes.
  • AWS Integration: We’ve integrated Amazon Web Services accounts for improved speeds and resource management.
  • Table Improvements: Users have more flexibility for table manipulation: pinning movements, viewing and more.
  • GEO Rewards: We’ve added multiple payouts for different geos in a single plan.

We’re always updating our software and solutions so we can become the best affiliate management system that prioritises making data and tracking easy and accessible. We’re always collecting user feedback and implementing the best technology — I’m so excited for the future of ReferOn!

SBC: Are you planning on hosting more educational content in the future? What could those future sessions look like?

AG: Yes, after the success of our two ReferOn Insights seminars, we have extensive plans to host more. We’re in discussions to include partners and introduce new formats that provide value to attendees. Although these are educational sessions, we consider them collaborative opportunities. We encourage everyone to follow our social media channels for more updates on our educational content!
