Merkur Gaming strengthens LATAM division with Salvestrini appointment

Merkur Gaming, a division of the German giant Gauselmann Group, has strengthened its sales and marketing team through the appointment of Santiago Salvestrini.

Salvestrini, a Chilean native, will join the company as the new Marketing Director (LATAM), and will be tasked with standardising and optimising a number of marketing operations across the Latin America markets.

“We are delighted to welcome Santiago Salvestrini, a colleague with extensive knowledge of the Latin American gaming market, who will actively support us in the strategic development of our subsidiaries in Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina,” said Charles Hiten, CEO of Merkur Gaming Americas.

Part of Salvestrini’s role will also include working alongside the local subsidiaries of Merkur Gaming, as well as supervising the implementation and development of existing and future business strategies which relate to the market.

Salvestrini celebrated his new appointment, and commented: “I’m looking forward to the tasks that await me. Merkur Gaming, with the Gauselmann Group behind it, is a major player in the international gaming industry and is extremely successful in Latin America.

“I am delighted to be joining the Merkur Gaming Americas team and to be able to contribute my knowledge and experience.”

Following the completion of his MBA in 2013, Salvestrini has previously held roles for a number of renowned and globally active companies in the fields of marketing, branding and corporate communications.

The companies he has held positions for have included Philip Morris and, in particular, various large casino-operator groups in Latin America such as Enjoy S.A., Monticello Grand Casino & Entertainment World and Diageo.
