Playtech is to deepen its footprint in the US further still as the gambling software firm rolls-out strategic agreements with various subsidiaries of Greenwood Racing.

The partnership includes licensing of Playtech products to the Greenwood companies in the states of Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, commencing with the launch of online casino in the former on the group’s IMS and player account management platform.

Greenwood, which owns and operates the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, also boasts a New Jersey presence via digital and retail, at the Freehold Raceway, as well as operating land-based sports betting in the Wolverine State in partnership with Gun Lake Casino.

Playtech secured regulatory approval to launch in Michigan in December 2020, and lauded its impending moves in the country after entering the US market following licence approval and launch with bet365 and Entain in the Garden State.

In a recent trading update the company also praised ongoing progress across the Latin American region, with strong growth singled out in Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama.

Mor Weizer, Playtech CEO, commented: “This strategic partnership with the Greenwood companies represents a major milestone for Playtech and I’m excited to work with them to help achieve their growth plans in the coming years.

“The US is a highly strategic market and this multi-state, multi-product agreement highlights the demand for the full breadth of our product offering. This is the next step for Playtech in the US and we are delighted to work with the Greenwood companies to capture this exciting long-term opportunity.”

In its aforementioned trading update, Playtech said that its 2020 full year performance is expected to be ahead of expectations, with praise issued to the “hard work, resilience and commitment of its people” as well as strategic and operational progress amid a challenging environment.
