Gambling tech firm Playtech has unveiled a collaboration with Swiss operator Casinò Lugano to launch its products and software, as the group aims to gain ground in an “exciting growth area” for casino and live.

The new multi-year partnership with Casinò Lugano’s Swiss4Win.ch brand sees it become the first platform in the combined Italian-Swiss region to go online with Playtech’s information management solution, casino and live casino content.

Gianmaria Frapolli, CEO and board member at Casinò Lugano SA, commented: “We are excited to partner with Playtech and bring the success of Casinò Lugano into the online market.

“Playtech’s industry-leading software and expertise will help deliver a sustainable and innovative online casino experience to our customers as we enter the online market for the first time.”

Casinò Lugano SA, dubbed “the most popular and oldest casino in the Italian-Swiss region”, becomes the most recent long-term partner for Playtech as it continues to expand its presence in the Swiss market.

Shimon Akad, chief operating officer at Playtech, said: “The continued growth and development of Switzerland’s online casino market in the last few years makes it an exciting growth area for our casino and live casino offering.

“Live casino is a key product vertical for Playtech, and we look forward to working with Casinò Lugano to deliver our data driven, omni-channel IMS platform which can help drive the growth of the country’s emerging online market.”

This tie-up for Playtech follows the company unveiling the “latest milestone” in its burgeoning US road-map earlier in the week, after it pulled back the curtain on its first live casino studio in Michigan.

With the US pinpointed as a key region of opportunity earlier in the month, Playtech has secured a long-term lease, as well as Michigan Gaming Control Board approval, for the Southfield-based facility.
