Sky River Casino celebrates early opening with grand ceremony

Boyd Gaming and the Wilton Rancheria tribe have hosted a grand ceremony for its partnered launch of the Sky River Casino, opening ahead of schedule in Elk Grove, California.

Last weekend, the collaborative entities held a night of festivities at their new establishment, celebrating the occasion with a traditional awakening ceremony featuring lion dancers and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

Sky River Casino’s grand ceremony also included a mystery prize giveaway for its reward scheme members, to give players an incentive to join Sky Rivers Rewards which gives guests cardless play and cashless wallets.

“The past month has truly exceeded our expectations and we are grateful to our guests who have come from near and far to visit and our team members that have worked to make Sky River Casino the success that it has become,” commented Chris Gibase, Senior Vice President of Boyd Gaming.

The casino is the largest and most recent casino to be installed in Northern California in nearly a decade, offering players “the newest gaming systems and modern technology”.

Boyd Gaming’s latest land-based endeavour boasts 80 table games, including Baccarat and Pai Gow, and more than 2,000 slot machines to enhance its casino lobby, in addition to the Sky River Casino High Limit Room for high-rollers.

“Now that we are open, we look forward to our continued partnership and support for the City of Elk Grove and the surrounding communities,” added Gibase.
