Spiffbet has continued its operator-focused strategy by adding a fifth online casino to its roster, acquiring dormant brand Helmicasino to target Finnish players.

Spending SEK 300,000 to complete the acquisition, Spiffbet has taken over the online casino that has been shut down since the beginning of 2023, due to ‘changed conditions for payments’.

With plans to relaunch Helmicasino in December 2023, the brand has switched to a Maltese licence from a Finnish licence following the purchase, although the operator still plans to apply ‘a focus on Finland’ to the brand.

The move sees Spiffbet continue to streamline its business to the operator side of the industry, following the sale of its development arm to Million Games.

Henrick Svensson, CEO of Spiffbet, stated: “We really thought it was a shame that Helmicasino.com was closed, but we understood at the same time that it was necessary as the conditions to continue operating on the existing licence were no longer there.

“We are happy to offer the casino again to the market with better game selection and better payment options.”

Spiffbet’s decision to become more honed in on the operator side of the business has seen the firm acquire its second online casino in a matter of weeks, having recently acquired Swedish online casino Supersnabbtin.

“Spiffbet as a company has brought down the cost level significantly since the beginning of 2022. Now we focus on increasing revenues,” added Svensson.

“The launch of Supersnabbt.se and Helmicasino.com is a clear component of this. We started with the launch of Supersnabbt.se, which looks promising, and now we continue with Helmicasino.com in Finland.”
