Bally’s Medinah Temple-based temporary facility in Chicago is set to become open all hours from next week, after just three months of being open to the public.

As reported by the Chicago Tribune, the facility, which is located at Medinah Temple, will begin allowing guests to play at the casino at any time of the day from December 27.

Before this decision, the facility has been operating for 20 hours per day but since gaining approval form the Illinois Gaming Board earlier this month. Bally’s will now open the Medinah Temple location for all hours.

“Opening our doors 24/7 is an important step as we continue to increase our visitation,” explained Mark Wong, VP of Bally’s Chicago. “This is a progression toward attaining the goals we set out to achieve and gives us similar hours to other local casino properties.”

The Medinah Temple temporary location is set to host casino gaming in Chicago until 2026, when the $1.7bn permanent location is expected to be completed.

The casino boasts around 800 slot machines and around 50 table games as well as a bar and cafe within the building, which has kept its original structure and architecture.

Moreover, the location has a VIP and high roller section on the third floor alongside two separate restaurants for players to enjoy.

Updating investors during its Q1 earnings call, Bally’s President George Papanier stated: “We look forward to the opening of the Chicago temporary casino in late summer 2023, which is on track and on budget.

“We are also advancing the full build of our Bally’s Chicago permanent facility, which is slightly ahead of schedule and on budget for opening in the summer of 2026. There is significant consumer demand for this project, and we couldn’t be more excited to begin producing results.”
