The PGA Tour’s summer swing continues with this week’s John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
Jordan Spieth, who has won this event twice, is the biggest name in the field along with Rickie Fowler and defending champion Brian Campbell.
Most of the world’s top-ranked players are taking this week off with the Open Championship looming on July 16 at Royal Birkdale.

Best Bet on Favorite to Win John Deere Classic
Chris Gotterup (+1400)
Chris Gotterup started the 2026 season by winning the Sony Open in Hawaii. Less than a month later, he won the WM Phoenix Open.
In his second PGA Tour start, Gotterup finished T-4 on a sponsor’s exemption at the 2022 John Deere Classic.
Gotterup is one of the longest players off the tee, ranking fourth on tour in driving distance (322.1 yards). He’s also ranked 12th in total shots gained (1.041), which aligns with the winning profile at TPC Deere Run.
Best Bet on Sleeper to Win John Deere Classic
Tom Kim (+3500)
After struggling to begin the season, Tom Kim is seemingly back. Kim finished third in the US Open following a T-15 in the Canadian Open, his best two-event stretch of the season.
The three-time PGA Tour winner won twice at age 20 and once the following year. His near-miss at the US Open portends good things. Kim remains an elite iron player, ranking sixth on tour in approach from 125-150 yards.
It’s only a matter of time before Kim gets back into the winner’s circle.
Best Bet on Longshot to Win John Deere Classic
Emiliano Grillo (+8400)
Emiliano Grillo finished second at TPC Deere Run before losing to Campbell in a playoff last year in another runner-up effort. That strong course history is accompanied by a recent improvement in form. Grillo finished T-20 at the Canadian Open before finishing T-28 in the US Open.
At these odds, and given his past success here, Grillo is worth a small toss in this weaker field. The two-time winner on the PGA Tour is looking for his first victory since the 2023 Charles Schwab Classic.
