Golden Nugget Online Gaming has unveiled expansion plans into the Wolverine State after rolling-out a partnership with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community and Ojibwa Casino.

The tribe, whose original Ojibwa Casino began operations in Baraga with a second in Marquette having recently been rebuilt before operating out of the new facility in December 2019, is striving to “create even more opportunity for gamers” through the partnership.

“We are excited to partner with Golden Nugget to bring online casino and sports betting to the state of Michigan,” stated Chris Swartz, Keweenaw Bay Indian community president.

“Working with a strong brand will be a perfect complement to our brand new casino in Marquette as well as our casino in Baraga.”

Players across Michigan are promised access to a diversified selection of online mobile igaming titles via GoldenNuggetCasino.com, with the firm aiming to follow up its market leading status in New Jersey with a Pennsylvania-based launch to complement current moves being made in Michigan.

Furthermore, sports bettors in the region will also be able to utilise the Golden Nugget Online Sportsbook, which will feature its proprietary ‘Golden Lines’, an odds boost on specific bets and updated daily, as well as a ‘Parlay Boost’ which gives users an opportunity to increase their winnings on such bets.

“Golden Nugget Online Gaming is thrilled to partner with the Ojibwa Casino to provide casino players in Michigan with a premium online casino and sportsbook experience,” noted Thomas Winter, president of Golden Nugget Online Gaming

“Players in Michigan will be able to appreciate our award winning product offering and exceptional customer service from a nationally recognised and trusted brand.”

Last month,Tilman Fertitta and Landcadia Holdings II announced a purchase agreement regarding US online real money casino Golden Nugget Online Gaming.

Upon closing, Landcadia II, a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company co-sponsored by Fertitta Entertainment and Jefferies Financial Group, intends to change its name to Golden Nugget Online Gaming and its Nasdaq trading symbol to GNOG.

Set to become only the second pure publicly traded online casino company in the country, both parties assert an expectation that the transaction will close in the third quarter of the year.
