Holland America Line increases gaming options on five cruise ships

Holland America Line has detailed a growth of what the group has dubbed a “key part” of its fleet after announcing an expansion of the onboard casino space.

This will see the Pinnacle and Signature Class ships swell to include more than 140 of what are hailed as “the newest and most popular slot and video poker machines in the gaming industry”.

The increased casino space, which will be on Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Koningsdam, Eurodam and Nieuw Amsterdam cruise ships, will add more traditional slots, progressive jackpots and video poker.

In addition to this expansion, a separate non-smoking area in the casino onboard Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam and Koningsdam have also been added.

“Casino play is a key part of their Holland America Line cruise vacation for many of our guests, and we were able to take advantage of some extra space on our Pinnacle Class ships to add more gaming machines,” said Daniel Materassi, Senior Vice President of Guest Commerce and Performance Analytics at Holland America Line.

“The slots we’ve added are some of the newest in the industry, bringing exciting gameplay to our guests alongside the popular classic machines.”

Last year, Holland America Line, part of a family of companies owned by Carnival Corporation, completed the installation of Konami Gaming’s Synkros casino management system across 11 vessels in the group’s fleet.

Through the implementation of the Konami CMS, guests gained access to more detailed information regarding their play, including seeing points earned and the ability to easily redeem any promotions or offers.

Furthermore, in addition to cashless wagering, this also allowed players to take part in on-demand slot tournaments, prize drawings and floor-wide bonus events, powered by Konami.
