William Hill US has detailed the launch of its mobile sports betting app within the state of Illinois, done so in partnership with Caesars Entertainment’s Grand Victoria Casino.

Featuring a biometric login and a quick-bet option, the William Hill mobile app is built on a proprietary platform, offers action on college and pro sports, with multiple deposit and withdrawal options, and includes props, parlays, futures and in-play wagering.

The group debuted its first retail sportsbook in Illinois earlier this summer at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, featuring three full-service ticket windows and representing the firm’s expansion into The Prairie State.

William Hill now offers mobile sports betting in the six states of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Nevada, New Jersey and West Virginia, as well as powering the Rhode Island Lottery mobile app’s trading services.

In the former of those regions, William Hill launched its sports betting app and website earlier this month, with former Denver Broncos wide receiver and two-time Super Bowl Champion Rod Smith placing the ceremonial first bet.

The development follows the operator’s entrance into Colorado in July, a move which was made in partnership with Isle Casino Hotel and Lady Luck Casino in Black Hawk.

“We’re excited to bring our top-performing mobile app to my hometown state of Illinois,” Ken Fuchs, president of digital for William Hill, said of the group’s latest US expansion. “We look forward to providing millions of sports fans in the state with the best markets and great service.”

Should the market fully mature, PlayIllinois believes the state could generate from $9bn to $11bm in wagers annually and $650m in operator gross revenue.
